After being down 14 points in the first half, SLU stormed back and won 68-67. BillikenReport breaks down the game.

Game ball: Mike McCall. The sophomore guard was 5-for-6 from the field and 3-for-4 from deep. He finished with 16 points, and although he went just 3-for-6 from the free throw line, his overall game was quite impressive in a tough road environment.

Key Number: 22. That's how many turnovers Charlotte had. The 49ers simply couldn't hold onto the basketball, and that plagued them in the second half as SLU mounted several strong runs to surge back into the lead.

Weix's Take: The last three minutes of the game will give SLU head man Rick Majerus a sour taste in his mouth heading home. After extending its lead to 62-49 with just under four minutes left, the Billikens started to give into the 49ers' pressure. That being said, SLU will take this result. Any win is a good win, especially on the road in league play. It moves SLU back to .500 in-conference and today's win was the first road win since November 15 against SIU-Carbondale. I found it interesting that Dwayne Evans played just ten minutes today, and Rob Loe just seven. It was clear that Majerus felt more comfortable with guard play. McCall (30 minutes) and Jordair Jett (24 minutes) combined for five steals and helped anchor a 12-0 run in the second half. Kyle Cassity wasn't shy pulling the trigger, going 3-for-8 from the field. I thought he got a lot of solid looks, especially from behind the arc, but he just didn't knock them down. Brian Conklin and Kwamain Mitchell who have been the Billikens' two "go-to" players this season both had solid games offensively, but were a little suspect taking care of the basketball. Javarris Barnett was great for the 49ers, particularly in the first half. He had 14 points at the break and finished with 23 for the game.

Up Next: SLU returns home to face Duquesne next Saturday at Chaifetz Arena. The time off is much-needed for the Billikens, as they head out on a difficult stretch of games in late January.
