Xavier, which went 24-9 a year ago, was picked to finish first, garnering 15 of the 16 first-place votes. George Washington (27-7) received the other first-place vote and was picked to finish second, with Charlotte third, Temple fourth and Richmond fifth.
Saint Joseph’s was picked to finish sixth, with St. Bonaventure seventh, Duquesne eighth and Dayton ninth before Saint Louis. The final four spots went to Rhode Island at No. 11, followed by Massachusetts, La Salle and Fordham.
The All-Conference preseason first-team was George Washington’s Jessica Adair, Xavier’s Amber Harris, Duquesne’s Kristi Little, St. Bonaventure’s Dana Mitchell and Xavier’s Ta’Shia Phillips.
Saint Louis junior guard Theresa Lisch made the second team, along with Saint Joseph’s Sarah Acker, Charlotte’s Danielle Burgin and Richmond’s Johanna McKnight and Brittani Shells.
The third-team was Dayton’s Kristin Daugherty, Temple’s LeKeisha Eaddy, Fordham’s Megan Mahoney, George Washington’s Antelia Parrish and Xavier’s Jerri Taylor.
The All-Defensive team consisted of Temple’s Eaddy, Xavier’s Harris and Phillips, Duquesne’s Little and Richmond’s McKnight.
