Boga committed to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee earlier this fall.
“It was just a good fit for me,” he said. “It reminded me of home. It’s a good situation because I’ll be able to come in and play right away.”
Boga had attracted interest from schools like Missouri State, Southeast Missouri State and Illinois State for basketball and also got some attention from Missouri State and Southern Illinois for football. He is a wide receiver for the Comets’ football team.
A 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard, Boga averaged 18.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a junior and made 36.3 percent of his 3-point attempts (37 of 102). He averaged 16.1 points per game as a sophomore and 10.6 points per contest as a freshman.
McCluer went 16-9 a year ago and tied with Hazelwood Central for second place in the always-difficult Suburban North Conference behind McCluer North.
The Comets could be one of the top teams in Missouri this winter as they return their three leading scorers. Boga, his younger brother, sophomore point guard Shaquille Boga (16 points per game), and senior guard Jerrel Partlow (14.4 points per game) will form arguably the St. Louis area's best backcourt this season.
