Monteiro and two other teenagers were arrested last week on theft charges. Charges against all defendants were dropped today in Bantam Superior Court, Conn. Head coach Ron Everhart told reporter Dave Mackall, "The court proceedings have concluded and B.J. Monteiro will be reinstated to the men's basketball team tomorrow."
Monteiro, who was the Hartford Courant 2008 State Player of the Year at Crosby High School in Waterbury, Conn., averaged 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per game in 30 games, the last 25 off the bench. He is one of seven returning freshmen from Duquesne's 2008-09, 21-13 team.

Update: Wednesday's Waterbury Republican American adds that Julio Vazquez, who was one of two co-defendants, "... is a freshman at St. Joseph’s College of Maine, and a member of the men’s basketball team." (WRA story)
This Saint Joseph's is a Division III school.
