The school announced on Thursday that Jordan and Smith were granted their releases to transfer. Jordan averaged 4.9 points per game. Smith, who started five games, averaged 2.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest.
“Justin and John are terrific young men,” Majerus said in a press release. “We wish them much luck, and we were fortunate to have them in our program for the time that they were here.”
After the announcement that Jordan and Smith were leaving, the school sent out a press release that Jett, a 6-foot-2 guard from Minnesota who spent the past year at Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts, had signed a letter of intent to become a Billiken.
"Jordair Jett's signing gives us a highly competitive and tough-minded, physical player," Majerus said in a press release. "Jordair has the ability to become a fantastic defender as well as get to the rim and take it to you from the perimeter. His athletic ability excites us, as does his passion for the game. Jordair sees the floor well. He is unselfish and should frequently be able to get to the free throw line."
Jett scored more than 1,000 points during his career at St. Bernard’s High School in St. Paul, Minn. He averaged 20 points, five assists and five steals per game and drew recruiting interest from Saint Louis U., but then enrolled at Notre Dame for a year of prep school.
He averaged a team-best 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists while leading Notre Dame to a 27-7 record this past season.
Jett joins a recruiting class that includes guard Mike McCall, forward Dwayne Evans and 6-11 power forward Rob Loe from New Zealand. Saint Louis U. has one more scholarship to give and among the recruiting targets is prep school forward Majok Majok.
